BEN GREEN MEMORIAL TROPHY

After a delayed start of an hour and a full English breakfast, the Texas Scramble event got underway in the very cold but dry conditions. Despite the rain starting part way through competition, the event was won by the team of Mark McGirr, Brian Mills, Pramod Mistry and James Farley with a very impressive score of 5 under for the 9 holes.

After a quick turnaround at lunch, allowing just enough time to eat the sandwiches and chips, the afternoon session got underway in heavy rain conditions. The course with it’s newly formed water features, especially on the greens, made play very difficult but despite this and the cold and windy weather most participants completed the 18 holes with the last groups finishing in darkening conditions.

The competition was won by Roger Hall with a notable score of 38 points in the very tough conditions with Mark Parkhurst coming second on 35 points and Ajay Mistra coming third on 33 points.

The division winners were Mark Graham (Div 1), James Farley (Div 2), Stuart Perry (Div 3) and Adrian Shilston (Div 4). Adrian also took home the prize for the Par three competition.
